Great Tapestry of Scotland panel stolen

All involved with The Great Tapestry of Scotland are in shock at the news that one of the panels has been stolen from Kirkcaldy Galleries. The theft took place on Thursday 10 September and Police Scotland have appealed to the public to come forward with any information that may result in the return of the panel. 160 panels make up the full length of the 143metre long embroidered tapestry. The missing panel depicts the story of Rosslyn Chapel and was stitched by 7 stitchers from Roslin. The panel took over 500 hours to stitch. All involved are greatly saddened by this act of vandalism on what has become a national treasure.

The Great Tapestry of Scotland is on the Move (but there's still time to make your Mark!)

Members of the public are to be given a chance to make a stitch on new welcome panels for the Great Tapestry of Scotland before it moves to its new, purpose built home in Galashiels.
